   I like icons in navigation when they make sense. In the right hands, they can be fantastic. Clear symbols that don’t require me to think “what in the heck is that?” They can add to a sense of humanism for a site, or personality, or simple functionality.

   But in the wrong hands, ugh icons.

   Totally. There is nothing worst than bad or incomprehensible icons. They can easily add to confusion. But when done right so nice on the brain.
